You will have to pull them in and out each time you go out to sit in the patio. In the end, you might stop sitting out all together. Have them installed on the wall or the ceiling and forget about them. Otherwise, choose the place carefully, or you may find the heat being blown off by the wind.

Some outdoor heaters are portable and these heaters should be placed with wind direction in mind.
