Buy Outdoor Wicker Furniture; Marry Beauty With Utility

If you have just bought a house, you will need to start from the scratch. On the contrary, if you want to redecorate your old patio, you will have a different problem on hand. Whatever be the case, keep the following factors in mind before you go shopping for new outdoor furniture:
• The size of your patio
• Direction of the wind
• The purpose for which the patio will be used
• Number of people who will be using the patio on an average
• Your financial limitations

Chaise lounges are comfortable to laze in, but are they suitable for your patio? You need to buy more than one. If the deck is not big enough, it may not be a good idea. You must leave enough space for the children to run and hop or your guests to circulate (outdoor parties are big hit these days). Deep sofas do not take so much space, nevertheless are comfortable. There are other comfortable sitting accessories that will not take much space as well. Surfing through the internet for half an hour should open new vista for you. You will not know which one to choose and which one to discard.

Indeed, there are too many types of outdoor furniture, some are affordable and some are outside the reach of ordinary middle class families. Teak outdoor furniture is good and sturdy, but can you afford one? Vinyl outdoor furniture is reasonably priced, but not all of them have that classy look. You do not really want some cheap stuff adorning your patio, do you? However, you can always opt for outdoor wicker furniture if you want to marry economy with beauty. They look stunning, are durable and do not cost the earth.

However, make sure the wicker furniture you buy for your outdoor space is not made from any kind of natural fiber. Natural wicker furniture looks graceful, but they are not at all weather resistant. You will have to pull them in and out each time you go out to sit in the patio. In the end, you might stop sitting out all together. Outdoor wicker set made from resin is a perfect answer to your dilemma. They look just as gorgeous as natural wicker; you would not know the difference unless you are specifically told. On top of that, being made from synthetic resins they are weatherproof.

Try to visualize a set of outdoor wicker dining set grouped under a colorful patio umbrella and you sitting under it, sipping a cool drink, throwing crumbs at the squirrel, who always hover about when you come out to sit. Poetic, you would say; realistic I would retort. You can make this happen, if you go about it in a planned way. Patio umbrellas have become almost an integral part of the patio furnishing today and now that the summer is here, you just cannot do without one. If you find the concern about the UV rays of the sun causing skin cancer much too cliché, you must admit the umbrellas in the patio lend certain character to it.

There are different types of patio umbrellas. If yours is a big patio, you can try an offset umbrella, but if it is too small even for ordinary patio umbrellas to unfold, you can use half canopy type umbrellas that are supported against a wall. Take note of the direction of the wind. If you live in a high wind area, you should choose either a teak umbrella or one that has a fiberglass frame, you will not have to buy a new one every year.

Taking note of the direction of wind is mandatory before installing an outdoor heater. Outdoor heaters too come in different styles. You do not need to bother too much about the wind direction if you have an infrared heater that does not heat the space in between, but only the solid objects that lie in its path. Have them installed on the wall or the ceiling and forget about them. Otherwise, choose the place carefully, or you may find the heat being blown off by the wind.

Some outdoor heaters are portable and these heaters should be placed with wind direction in mind. Moreover, they should be provided with floor bracket for stability and anti tilt shut off mechanism for security. However, you may say now that the summer is here let us not waste time and energy on outdoor heaters. Remember Shelly? He said, “If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?” Let us just switch season and say, “If Summer comes, can Autumn be far behind?” The rest is for you to decide.
