This is because when it is outside, your furniture is exposed to all the elements and all sorts of weather that is going to hit your area.
If it is not properly cared for and looked after, then you are going to have a problem because you are going to spend a lot of time and effort replacing the spoilt furniture which is not something you want to be doing. You spend a lot of time and money picking out and investing in your teak patio furniture and all weather wicker furniture and you obviously want it to last for as long as possible so you don’t feel as if you wasted all that time and effort, and more importantly, all that money. Patio umbrellas, an outdoor patio heater and outdoor patio cushions too will need a lot of care and attention, much like the rest of the furniture because they are kept outdoors. Remember any outdoor furniture needs special care and attention to it.
Proper care and maintenance can ensure that your furniture lasts you as long as possible, and contrary to what you might think, you can really just employ simple basic care techniques on a regular basis which can still help too. For example, you don’t have to spend a fortune caring for your teak patio furniture, outdoor patio heater and all weather wicker furniture, you just have to be sure that you do care for it and not ignore it completely thinking they will be just fine.
Here is what you can do to ensure your outdoor furniture stays in tip top condition for a long time:
• When not in use, cover it up so at least it get some form of protection, especially if it is out in the garden or an un-shaded porch. Leaving your furniture entirely exposed to the heat, wind and rain will only serve to damage it faster so keep it protected wherever possible.
• Your furniture should get a little sun every now and again because your furniture is kept outdoors, it will get damp slightly even if it is kept in the shade. It will get slightly wet somewhat, or get dampened by the morning mildew so sun out your furniture once a week perhaps. Be sure it gets direct sunlight so that it gets completely dry.
• Wipe it dry every time something has spilt on it, or after it has rained and your furniture has gotten wet. And on a weekly basis, all you need is a damp cloth and probably some cleaner of some sort to wipe away the dust, dirt and grime that might have gathered on your furniture during the week.
• Cushion covers and tablecloths outside should be hand washed if possible because they are delicate material and putting them in the machine might cause a little wear and tear on it.
• When the umbrella is not in used it should be stowed away somewhere to avoid it from getting ruined quickly when it is left out there unattended. The umbrellas too can be cleaned using soap and water and a brush.
Practice these simple tips and you’ll be amazed at how long your furniture can last you.
